Wish I could stay longer!

I chose Amanzi as a landing spot for my first 3 weeks in Johannesburg, as I had just relocated to RSA for work. It was a great alternative to staying at a hotel as it offered similar quality of service and independence, but with a more personal feel when it comes to decor and amenities.

The studio is kept clean and fully equipped, and the staff are friendly and always available to help.

True to form, Pam, Rob, Leanne and Ryan are lovely attentive hosts and fun neighbors!

Home away from home

Amanzi is my home away from home in Jo’burg. A beautiful, quiet garden oasis in a pretty suburban area, the rooms/apartments are spacious, well-appointed, and very well cared for. Rob and Pam, owners of Amanzi, are warm, friendly, gracious hosts, attentive to and very respectful of their guests.

Feels like family there.

The daily breakfast is fantastic – the staff cooks to order, along with cereals, fruit, fresh coffee and home-made bread – served in a solarium dining room overlooking the front garden. There is a grocery, wine shop and several good cafes/restaurants within a short walk.

The international employees of our company always stay at Amanzi when in Jo’burg.

Private, safe and inviting. Highly recommended!

The most wonderful and child friendly place!

We stayed at the Amanzi Guesthose for nearly 2 months after relocating from Switzerland and before settling in to our own home.

It was the best choice ever – the place is very child friendly (there are dogs, a pool and lots of open spaces outside), the area is safe, a beautiful park is in walking distance and most important of all – Pam, Rob, Deli, Tabbang and Leana are just amazing.

It felt like a family to us and they were very helpful and kind.

We would recommend staying there to anyone!

“Fantastic as Always”

My 3rd trip here over the last few years, this time pleasure not for business. I have never stayed anywhere that feels so much like home from home. Pam, Rob and the staff are wonderful. The rooms are very good, breakfast is lovely and always freshly cooked. It’s so peaceful and quiet, surrounded by trees it feels like you are in the country yet still very convenient for the city. Would thoroughly recommend.

“Great city escape”

Amanzi is a great city escape with excellent pre-arrival logistics ensuring our trip from Harare to Johannesburg was with ease of mind. The location is set in a secure quiet residential suburb within a 30 minutes drive radius (outside of traffic) of amenities we needed including shopping malls, restaurants and well stocked book shops.

We booked into an open plan town house apartment, which was fresh, modern, well maintained and with a balcony view over looking their tendered small garden.

Loved the tranquil escape in a generally busy city, and the only pet hate was being caught in traffic on one of our drive out 10 minutes away from the lovely place.

Room Tip: Apartments are best for singles and or couples with cottage options best for families.

“My Safe Haven in JoBurg”

I adore this guest house and so enjoy getting to relax and rejuvenate when traveling to Joburg for work. With all of the places I get to see around the world, Amanzi Guest House stands out. It’s a peaceful, safe haven and home away from home. Can’t wait until my next visit!

“Beautiful place to stay in Jo’Berg”

Beautiful room, environment, care and attention. All perfect and I’m very grateful for my stay here. It gave the perfect oasis from which to go out and explore the city (lovely restaurant (Corner cafe) round the corner…Quiet, tranquil, great places to sit in the sun, beautiful pool. Thank you!

“Most Beautiful Spot in Joburg”

We stayed at Amanzi for 1 month over the Christmas holidays to finalize the adoption of our son.

Pam and Rob make you feel like family as soon as you enter the gates, they were pseudo grandparents to our children, making up games for them to play and Pam is the most amazing storyteller I’ve ever listened to. They went above and beyond caring for our family as we went through a major transition of adding a child to our family. Each day was spent relaxing by the pool and enjoying the beautiful grounds, walking to some neighborhood restaurants, and ending the evening with a glass of wine and wonderful conversation with Pam and Rob. They are probably the most interesting couple I have ever met!

We stayed in 2 studio apartments that were so spacious and beautifully decorated. Our balcony overlooked the gardens and it was so peaceful watching the birds and listening to the fountain. Pam cooks a delicious breakfast if you are interested in that. I could write a novel about how wonderful Amanzi is, but I will leave it as you will not be disappointed!!!

“The absolute best!”

My family and I moved to Johannesburg in the end of December, and we stayed at a Amanzi for over a month while we settled in before moving to our own place.

Pam was absolutely amazing and really bent over backwards to make sure that we were comfortable. When we arrived from our 12+ hour flight, she made sure there was food ready for us, sim cards so we could communicate, and diapers for baby. The two bedroom cottage was a perfect place for a family of four, and the outdoor area is beautiful (our two year old son had fun running around and hiding outdoors). Pam and Rob were also great to talk with and occasionally share a glass of wine with :).

While we stayed there, we also had other colleagues and friends come to visit and also stay at Amanzi- everyone was just as impressed as we were.

I look forward to sending everyone I know to Amanzi in the future!

“Thank you!”

We stayed with Rob and Pam at Amanzi Guesthouse from 28 September 2016 up to 23 January 2017.

The most important for us was that our doggie, Tom-Tom, was also welcome and the accommodation provided for a secure and loving environment for him. We have enjoyed our stay and was extremely grateful that the cottage were serviced and that there is also a laundry service once a week.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, not to mention reliable. Pam and Rob also went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible and ensured that all our needs were catered for.

Regards Driekus and Gary.

Room Tip: Jacaranda Cottage has a private courtyard, private access and is close to the communal swimming pool…
