One of the first questions guests ask when they arrive at Amanzi Guest House in Johannesburg<\/a>: Is it safe to walk around the neighbourhood? How safe is it living in Joburg or Jozi, as we affectionately call Johannesburg
\nLets start with living at Amanzi \u2013 I have lived in Craighall Park in Johannesburg for over 30 years, so can speak from experience!
\nYes, we have horrible high walls, and electric fences, and electric gates. And yes, Rob and I make sure these are working. But is it worth the stress of living in this city? Do we enjoy living in Joburg?
\nThe answer is yes! Rob and I love living at Amanzi in Craighall Park. I love my lush bird life filled garden, with water ponds and salt water swimming pool.<\/p>\n

We love our verandah, whether its serving breakfast, reading a book, or chatting to guests over a glass of wine (or two).<\/p>\n

We love having a barbecue by the pool, either with family or with guests who become like family.
\nOur deck is a place to eat on, to have a sundowner, to work, to play games \u2013 Its fun to meet people from all around the globe and share ideas and thoughts.<\/p>\n

The people who live in Joburg are friendly and will always stop and chat, or help \u2013 whether you are in a queue, walking in a park, or at a social gathering, people talk to each other in Joburg.
\nThe weather is fantastic! How are these stats on days of sunshine!
\nAn average of 3182 hours of sunlight per year (of a possible 4383) It is sunny 72 % of the year. With an average of 8.7 sunshine hours per day!<\/p>\n

Craighall Park, our neighbourhood, is like a village \u2013 Delta Park<\/a> is huge, and a kilometre from Amanzi where people walk, run, cycle, with or without dogs, ride horses. Check out the weekly Delta Park run<\/a> which many of our guests enjoy doing on a Saturday morning.
