At last, Summer is beginning to show its face, \u2013 you\u2019ve filled your shopping basket , and ready to eat. You\u2019re in luck in The Parks. Johannesburg, for want of Cape beaches and mountains, has supurb places to lunch and meet friends, or simply to watch the world go by. I have a friend who loves to sit by herself in a caf\u00e9, but with others around \u2013 she says she has privacy and company at the same time. Hodges in The Colony Centre or Warm n Glad in St Albans Square both in Craighall Park are ideal to do this. Or relax in lovely garden settings at La vie en Rose in Hyde Park or Munch in Parkwood.<\/p>\n

If it\u2019s a bustling vibe you\u2019re after, try Fournos in Craighall Park \u2013 Rob recommends the bottomless black coffee and apple Danish, their ice cream is a favourite of mine (caramel) Another favourite is Moemas in Parktown North \u2013 try their crunchy broccoli and goat cheese quiches and tarts or sinful pastries.<\/p>\n

Melissas in Parkhurst promises the health conscious a lunch feast of organic and raw foods which complements their worthwhile host of free trade and locally produced goods for sale in store.
\nPub grub and a pint of craft beer for the discerning diner can be found at the very popular Foundry in Parktown North, and for a more casual vibe, the Jolly Roger in Parkhurst and Giles in Craighall Park are local favourites.<\/p>\n
